Crew! We are incredibly honored to be one of the bands performing at the 9th Annual Sunnyside Music Festival this Saturday. This is one of Denver's most cherished and fun summer/fall traditions and the people will be OUT on the streets dancing and spreading lots of love.

Hope you'll stop by 44th & Tejon on Saturday, 9/10 between 2:30 and 3:30 to check us out. All funds raised at the event stay in the neighborhood. Ya heard?!

See you soon! Check here for a line-up! xoxo

People's Fair, Taste of Ft. Collins, & Westword Music Showcase: Mil Gracias!

To our incredible friends who invited us to play this year's Capitol Hill People's Fair, Taste of Ft. Collins, and Westword Music Showcase, mil gracias! Shouting people out by name is important to us because it's individuals who make these things happen and we're SO GRATEFUL for your support.

To Roger Armstrong, Andrea Furness, Cody Galloway, Luann Morris, and Jon Solomon, you are singlehandedly making things happen for our crew and we appreciate and thank you with all we have!

Hope our friends continue to celebrate these great folks in our community who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring great music and art to our fine city and state.

Thanks again guys! By the by, we're heading down to Westword's award ceremony on Thursday night at the Bluebird Theatre. Whether we win or not, it's sure to be a great night with Denver's best and brightest and we're just honored to be in tha house!!

Westword's Review of Love Letters

It's official! We had our first review in the Westword by the fabulous Jon Solomon and we're so grateful for his thumb's up on our first EP, Love Letters.

Check the link below, but here's what Jon had to say last week:

"Headed up by singer Heather Larrabee and Flobots producer Kyle Jones, the Love Royale whips up some of the finest electro-soul in these parts. On Love Letters, the first of three long-form EPs, the group lays down a number of tracks that provide an ideal soundtrack for getting to, er, know somebody. Throw on the sweaty, grinding groove of "Give It to Me," which kind of feels like a distant cousin of Grace Jones's "Private Life," or the unhurried neo-soul of "Do the Dance," or "Sunday." All are saucy enough to get things heated up. But Love Letters isn't just about getting sexed up; the band turns up the energetic funk on "Come Over" and rocks out a bit on "Sundress." Any way you look at it, Love Letters is a thoroughly strong effort, and the captivating Larrabee shows she's quite capable of simultaneously being seductive and belting it out." - Jon Solmon, 4/12/2011.

Thanks Jon and Westword for your incredible support! For a link to the article, click here.

Whole Planet Party: Grooving For Change!

On March 25th, we were honored to be one of 12 musical groups asked to play the Whole Planet Party benefit hosted by Whole Foods Market, Bar Standard, HOT 107.1 FM, Jammin 105.1 FM, and Westword.

It was amazing to see more than 525 people come out and enjoy music from some of Denver's best bands and DJs performing on three stages non-stop from 7 PM - 1 AM.

Over $3300 was raised in ticket sales that night. 100% of the proceeds from these sales were donated to the Whole Planet Foundation to fund micro-loans to women and families in 29 developing nations to help them lift themselves out of poverty through small business ownership.

What a wonderful world we live in where the actions of a handful of people on a Friday night in Denver could create prosperity, abundance, and most importantly, HOPE for people around the world.

Nights like this are humble reminders that we are ultimately servants channeling whatever it is we can through us in an effort to reach others. Thank you for the incredible gift you give us in receiving this.

Of course none of this happens in a vacuum. We have to shoutout people like Rupp's Drums, Dave Avery (Sound Engineer), Bar Standard, Westword, and SoundTown for their generosity in supporting things from the business side. It takes a village indeed. Good people abound.

For beautiful pictures of the night, please check out great shots taking by Ash Marie Photography here and enjoy gorgeous shots from Rob Clement from RC Visual Arts here.

Spring Break Tour 2011

We're halfway through our Spring Break Tour and the weather is looking fiiiiiiineeee. Kind of like all the beautiful ladies and gents of D-town. We want to send a big shoutout to our friends Tyler Gilmore and his new band, Erzsebet, for inviting us to play on a great gig at the fabulous Meadowlark last week. Deep grooves and angelic melodies are Erzsebet's specialty--this is a major band to watch.

We also had a great time at the D-Note last week and want to thank all our friends for coming out for many-a-beer.

Next stop? Appaloosa Grill at 16th & Welton Street for St. Patrick's Day. Oh. It's ON. 10 PM show and rumor has it that Heather bought a tartan plaid party dress for the occasion. Matt will certainly be in his Irish best (which in this case means a new green t-shirt pressed just for the show). Kyle, Jon and Dave will also be looking fine and ready to rumble. Fun trivia tip: Jon has quite possibly the best shoe collection of all Denver musicians. Look down to see for yourself. And did you vote to help him secure his debut at the Telluride Jazz Fest this summer? He's one of only 10 local acts being considered and is tied for the #1 spot. Vote here now! xoxoxoxoxo

New Shows Posted: January - March

Hey crew!

We've just added a bunch of shows to our calendar...really excited to report that we will be hitting the stage at Appaloosa for the first time (2/24), returning to please the good party people of Herb's (3/3), and have a super-duper special show happening at The Skylark Lounge on 1/15. Heather may or may not be hooking up an ice cream sundae bar in honor of our friend Gannon's birthday that night. He is an ice cream hound! Hope to see you all soon!
